Jon Stewart to GOP: "Maybe it's You."

Jon Stewart skewered the Republican base with a characteristic heaping of scorn.

Poking fun at the fact that they can't seem to find a candidate that suits them -- first it was Bachmann, then it was Perry. Now they're souring on him. And always the word is "isn't there someone else?" Christie, please, Christie. Maybe Mitch Daniels will reconsider.

Stewart says it's the reverse of "Dancing With the Stars." They keep adding more and more unqualified candidates instead of eliminating them.

So then he says to the conservative base, in his best mocking mode: "Maybe your candidates are not the problem; maybe it's You. . . . You guys need to take a long, hard look in the mirror and not come away thinking, 'There's something wrong with this mirror.'"

Well put, Jon. But, actually, I think the candidates are pretty bad, too. Or at least they have to pretend to dumb it down and take extreme, outrageous positions they'll never be able to live down in a general election.
