Rush finally went too far

I don't need to repeat the huge insult Rush Limbaugh heaped on the courageous law student who testified about contraception.    Even some Republicana spoke out against him, and some of his sponsors dropped him.

So today he made "a sincere apology.'

Not good enough, said the CEO of Carbonite, one of the sponsors:  Here's his statement:
“No one with daughters the age of Sandra Fluke, and I have two, could possibly abide the insult and abuse heaped upon this courageous and well-intentioned young lady. Mr. Limbaugh, with his highly personal attacks on Miss Fluke, overstepped any reasonable bounds of decency. Even though Mr. Limbaugh has now issued an apology, we have nonetheless decided to withdraw our advertising from his show. We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse."
Finally, enough is enough.

  1. AOL has become the eighth of Limbaugh's sponsors to drop him.

  2. Even Don Imus -- conservative Fox Business News host, who has himself sparked outrage at some of his comments in the past -- has referred to Rush Limbaugh as an "insincere pig" and a "pill-popping pinhead."

  3. It's spreading. Now two radio stations have announced that they are dropping Rush Limbaugh's program -- one in Massachusetts and one in Hawaii.

Of course, there are . . . how many more? thousands?

  4. At least 14 other companies are pulling their ads from Limbaugh's show. Geico has instructed all of its partners not to run ads on his show.

The question is: why were they advertising on his show anyway?
