How the prospect of winning corrupts politicians

From a speech given by former Texas Gov. Rick Perry last fall:
"He [Trump] offers a barking carnival act that can be best described as Trumpism: a toxic mix of demagoguery, mean-spiritedness and nonsense that will lead the Republican Party to perdition if pursued. . . .

"Let no one be mistaken – Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism, and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised and discarded."
Last Friday, backstage at the NRA convention, Perry told a CNN reporter that he would do everything he could to help Donald Trump get elected president -- and that, if needed, he would certainly answer the call to run as his vice president.

Now that would be a pair.   I'm not sure what Perry adds to the ticket, except good hair.  But, shucks, when you're ambitious and seeking glory, who's going to let a little integrity get in the way?
