5th Circuit Court Rules on Texas Voter ID Law

The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that the Texas voter ID law is unconstitutional because it is discriminatory and therefore violates the Voting Rights Act.  It furthered stated that this order applies to the upcoming election in November.

This is significant, because the 5th Circuit court is often considered to be the most conservative of the appeals courts, suggesting that other voter rights laws coming up before other appeals courts might also be overturned.
