I've made the decision that I'm going to take the rest of the summer off and work on my health, so hopefully this 85 year old body can still be sitting here as a 95 year old some day. I'll be having a heart valve replacement in early August, which has produced dramatic results in thousands of cases like mine.
So I invite you to check back in September and see whether I have chosen to resume daily postings. Also, sometimes things happening in the world may just compel me to write my reactions, just as I did yesterday in commenting on Trump's treasonous behavior on the stage with Vladimir Putin. So if Trump resigns or gets impeached, I'll probably be unable to keep from commenting on that.
Thanks for your interest.

Did Trump commit treason yesterday?
Yesterday's press conference between Trump and Putin qualifies as something I can't not comment on. I won't waste words: it was treasonous. It actually meets the definition: "giving aid and comfort to the nation's adversary."
So let's think about what this could mean.
1. Putin actually holds some damaging information over Trump and has control of him and Trump knows it.
2. Trump is an unwitting asset of Russia, meaning that he is being used by them without realizing it.
3. It is what former CIA Director John McLaughlin said on tv: a combination of naivete and arrogance. He is naive in thinking he can believe what Putin says. Add into it his narcissism, and Putin's KGB skills at reading and manipulating the other person.
Here's what I think. Trump may be beholden to Putin in some way and is consciously under his control. The only other possible explanation is the naive/arrogant/narcissism one.
I think Trump very much wanted -- and thought he was given it -- a clean slate. He would not have to deal with past problems. (why didn't Obama fix this?). He wanted to start fresh, without encumberance, and work his magic deal-maker skill and be the white knight hero. His questionable deal-maker skill is another subject.
It's not working. I hope Ivanka and Jared can convince him to resign. If not, the the Republican leaders should come to him and insist on it. And, if not, then he should be impeached.
