Once a huge hole has been blown in the side of a ship, how long does it take for the ship to sink?
A huge hole was blown in the side of Nut's campaign ship 2 weeks ago, when 16 of his key staff members resigned en masse, along with his entire Iowa operation.
Nut "felt relieved," he said, because now he could run the kind of campaign he wants -- which is one of ideas. But it takes people on the ground to arrange the rallies where people will come to hear your ideas -- unless he plans a TV-Twitter campaign.
Since then, Nut remains stuck in the polls in the also-ran category. But energizer bunny just keeps on keeping on.
Now the top two members of his fund-raising team have quit, too. And the campaign is reportedly more than $1,000,000 in debt, chiefly due to Nut and Callista's travel expenses. She has to get home for choir practice, and all that.
Of course, Nut and Callista have enough money from their lucrative book, DVD, and film productions, and from his speaking career to finance it all themselves. Will they? It seems to me that, if they start doing that, they defeat what must surely be the main purpose in Nut's running for prez -- to enhance the income from books, DVDs, and speaking fees. He clearly is not going to win.
Quarterly finance reports are due soon. It's going to be humiliating on top of all the defections (unreplaced as yet) and make him look even more like the loser that he is.
Surely this ship will sink beneath the waves . . . soon.

If it's not one thing, it's another for Nut's pathetic campaign in tatters. Now it seems that he inflated his resume on his official website bio, claiming to be:
ReplyDelete"the longest-serving teacher of the Joint War Fighting course for Major Generals and taught officers from all five services as a Distinguished Visiting Scholar and Professor at the National Defense University."
Turns out that he was given the title of "Distinguished Visiting Scholar" as an honorary courtesy title after giving some lectures over some years. But he was never a regular member of their faculty, could not by any stretch be called a "Professor" there.
Since this was exposed, the Dean of the Defense University has said that it was an honorary title, and Nut's bio on his web site has been corrected.
Just another little bit of the falseness of this odious Man of Ideas.
Joke: when asked by a reporter why he was not participating in the Ames, Iowa straw poll, he said: look, we're going to be in Iowa a lot in the coming weeks; but I'm not going to spend the kind of money . . . These candidates with great personal wealth can spend . . . but we don't have the money.
ReplyDeleteGreat personal wealth? True, he wasn't born with it. But he has made millions and can run up $1,000,000 in charges to Tiffany's. Oh, I get it. He doesn't have personal wealth because it's all gone to adorn Callista with diamonds and luxury cruises in the Greek isles.
Fine, if that's the way he wants to spend his wealth. Buy don't then turn around and try to make your impoverished state be a virtue.
But that's typical Nut. Slippery logic.
