Donald Trump gave a rousing speech at the National Rifle Association's convention, and the crowd raucously approved. Naturally. Because he told them what they wanted to hear: that we'd have less gun violence if more people were armed -- which is false of course, but no one at an NRA meeting would challenge that claim.
He went further and attacked Hillary Clinton, saying she wants to abolish the 2nd amendment and stop people from defending themselves but, at the same time, surrounds herself with Secret Service officers who are armed. "Let them disarm," he repeatedly shouted, to roars from the crowd.
The NRA has endorsed Trump for president. Of course.

Added later: In further proof that not all NRA members have this High Noon, shoot-out mentality pushed by the NRA leaders, it now seems that some member are upset that Trump was endorsed so early and without any discussion with rank and file members.
